Eco-friendly wedding in the Mountains
Eco-friendly Hygge wedding in the heart of the mountains of Chartreuse:
Nathalie wedding decorator of Majenia Design and I have joined together to create an eco-friendly wedding in the middle of the forest.
The place is Mon Château Étoilé, a charming cabin suspended from a tree, in the heart of the Massif de la Chartreuse, France.
To maintain the natural spirit, hygge and the eco-responsible side, Nathalie has selected objects corresponding to the subject: ceramic elements and vases in brown and cream tones, small handmade wooden pedestals / supports of the Chartreuse forest to insert the table number, rustic wooden chairs, a wooden table, wooden plates … She also made wooden “chandeliers” from neighboring forests, as well as a welcome and program signs made entirely in her workshop, also located in the heart of the Chartreuse. How not to make more local?
With the idea of inspiring the bride and groom to organize an eco-friendly wedding, we have partnered with super suppliers that try daily to encourage more responsible behavior and consumption with the environment. What better than having a beautiful and original natural tableware: coconut bowls and wooden spoons created by Mon Joli Bol, as well as the natural Jema Candles, which were perfect for organizing the dining room set. We didn’t want fresh single-use flowers, so we used dried flowers that can be stored and reused, made with love by Eléonore M.
The conceptual bakery Le Colibrí, which works with fair and organic raw materials, was responsible for creating vegan cakes, which we put on a table made with local wood, oak panels of the family forest and fir feet.
The stationery has been designed with a touch of modernity in a sober and refined spirit. Kraft prints, such as menus and invitations. The gift for the guests: organic honey from the village producer.
We found the suit and dress at the Olympe wedding boutique in Lyon. The bride, embellished by Virginie Debourg, wore the magnificent Avril dress of the Rue de Seine brand. The groom was dressed in the jacket and vest of the Zoé de Faubourg Saint Sulpice suit. The crown of the bride is a creation of Le Chapelier Toqué Studio, this piece was handmade in France, in natural quartz crystals. Thanks to Paulette Bicyclette, recognized for her ethical and fair gold, we were lucky to have beautiful alliances that stand out with textures that remind us of the beauty of nature.
Nathalie also brought a small stock of decorations: carpets, blankets, wooden skis, stools, baskets, lanterns, some wild garden herbs, pine cones, cushions, antique glasses, linen napkins, wooden trays … to accentuate the warm and cozy side of a hygge environment.
Of course, it is difficult to go to a 100% eco-friendly decoration, but we play the game to get closer and stay local! Most of the suppliers are from the region and it was a pleasure to work with such close colleagues.
